Oh ballsack I never update.

Deutschland is doing so well in World Cup, and that makes me happy. What doesn't make me happy, however, is that Andrea pointed out that we will be in Chicago for the AFI concert when the final match is supposed to take place. Thankfully, my cousin Aaron is conveniently located in the same city so we can watch the match, if anyone good is actually playing. :rock

I've been working a lot, but it is rather fun, and, er, I've been out to camp a few times. Pretty typical summer if you ask me, oh, besides being fondled during hXc spoons. Yeah that's a little different.

How bout that Preakness...

Decided to copy Andrea and get my World Cup on with a Michael Ballack icon. I'm sorry I'll be rooting for Deutschland instead of England, but I just can't help it. I <3 them. Only 19 days, 17 hours, 13 minutes, and 33 seconds until World Cup starts, or so my free keychain tells me.

I doubt you heard, but Barbero lost the Preakness today. If you were paying attention to the Triple Crown, you would realize the total sadness in this... but I'll spare you. Trust me, it's sad! (Even though Al made more money with Bernardini winning, muahaha.)

Wow, dad left the TV on one of the HD channels and I've just been watching the worst show ever about these three dumb bitches in bikinis pretending to be travel guides, all because I'm too lazy to get the remote. Guhhhhh.

I better go get ready, I'm going to see The DaVinci Code again, but I'm just sitting here like a loaf. Geez!

I've decided to stop ignoring my livejournal. I feel bad, but I never have anything to say!

I'm watching a baby story on TLC. I watch this show a lot, and no matter how many times I see these insanely happy couples, I still just cringe at the thought of having a child. Ick. Not just the horrible birth, but actually raising the little fuckers for 18 years. Once again, maybe I'll change my mind someday, I'm not saying that I won't, but seriously. Right now, that just sounds like something I never want to deal with.

School is out and I still can't believe it. I'm doing better now, but for the first few days after Tuesday I felt like I was putting off a paper or more homework or something. But no, it's just time to have fun! And work at the cafe, but still... mostly fun!

Ugh. Time to watch more awk births on TLC.

Up now and get 'em boy...

As if you even had to ask... Franz Ferdinand was totally unbelievable. I got to see my favorite band live, with my best friends who also love them, and we were so close, and it was so perfect! Here's the set list which Becca and her mighty long arms grabbed for me so I didn't have to search around the internet for a list to remember exactly what they played:

This Boy

Come On Home

Do You Want To

I'm Your Villain

Dark of the Matinee

L. Wells

Eleanor Put Your Boots On

Walk Away

Take Me Out

Darts of Pleasure

40'

Michael

The Fallen

Outsiders

This Fire

Everything was so good. "This Boy" turned out to be an awesome opener, no one saw it coming! L. Wells was just so cool, I loved it. I went absolutely nuts during "Darts of Pleasure" and thought I would explode when I was screaming "ICH HEISSE SUPERFANTASTISCH!" Ah, I feel bad, I want to talk about every song, because everything was so good and awesome for it's own reason. No encore, because they were double headlining with Death Cab for Crappy, but that's fine because the set was great and we got out early.

Of course, one of the best parts of the night was meeting the band after the show. There were many idiot girls there, bragging about their red hair and doughnuts, but Franz could just tell how much cooler we were, muahaha! I pretty much cried after meeting Alex I was so nervous and happy, but I pulled myself together for Nick. We talked to him for a bit longer than Alex, and then he went to talk to some other fans. After much debate, we decided that Andrea and I would ask Nick in German (he was born in Germany!) if he would sing "All For You Sophia" for us, being the Nick lovers/history nerds that we are. So I said,

"Nick! Ich habe eine frage fr dich!" (Nick, I have a question for you!)

And he was kind of shocked and happy, but didn't hear me and put his hand on my shoulder, leaned in, and said, "Was?!" (What?!) haha.

So I repeated myself, he said "Ja," and then Andrea asked "Wollst du fr uns "Sophia" singen?" (Will you sing "Sophia" for us?)

And then he got all embarrassed and started saying "Nein! Nein!" but he was laughing, and I kept saying "Bitte!" and he looked like he felt so bad, but then he said "We'll play the full thing next time we come here!"

After that, Bob came out, and it was rather awk. He's very quiet and shy! I got my picture and autograph with him though, and then decided that since I have a picture by myself with Alex and Bob, that I needed one with Nick. So I went back to Nick for the third time, and said

"Nick, kann ich eine Foto haben?" (Nick, can I have a picture?)

And Nick, being the totally lovely man that he is, just smiled so big and said "Ja, Natrlich!!" (Yes, of course!) And pulled me so close, at which point I almost died. While waiting for the picture, Nick said "Das ist schn, du bist ein gute studentin." (That's beautiful, you're a great student.) So of course I just got even more woobly and managed to say "Danke!" and then Ellen and I floated away to the van.

That's so long, and I probably forgot many things, but that's how it is for now. If you were bored by this, then screw you, because I'm so wonderfully happy!

Oh, and if you want to see the rest of my pictures besides the ones in my Myspace profile, then you can go to my webshots: http://community.webshots.com/user/punkstriped2

I am insanely pissed off. So is Emily. And Sam. And Alex. And Ellen. And EVERYONE who thought that any of the movies nominated for best picture deserved the Oscar besides Crash. No, I am not saying that the movie was terrible, but it was not even half as good as Brokeback Mountain, Munich, Capote, and Good Night, and Good Luck. I even think that something such as King Kong deserved to replace the mediocre "wow look at how shocking and confrontational we are" film that was Crash.

I still cannot believe that it won. If you liked Crash, then watch out, because the JoEmily inquisition has begun.

Okay, I'll admit it, I'm absolutely TERRIFIED to meet with Keith Kendall tomorrow. Sam told me he's just going to be like "why are you even taking this class?" because I'm such an IDIOT and don't even have a working thesis for this goddamn 12 page research paper about U.P. history, possibly the most boring subject on the planet. At this point, I would rather do research on Asian history, and if you know my view on Asian history, that's saying something.

Whew. That was good to get that out. After that meeting it's going to be nothing but fun times, I can't wait. Concerts, Oscar parties, white Russian parties, funderwear parties, zomg!!!!!11!!1!! lolz

Oh, and I know everyone besides a select few will be pissed and annoyed at this, but I just can't help it... 17 DAYS UNTIL DEUTSCHLAND!

Is it weird that the song "Angel is a Centerfold" by J Giles automatically reminds me of German class now? Yeah, thanks Sam Stahlmann! How the hell did this happen?

I just went to the Tundra Lodge in Green Bay for the weekend with my mom, sister, aunt and uncle, my cousin Adrienne, her husband Eric, their two kids Lizzy and Charlotte, and my cousin Aaron and his girlfriend Lauren. Whew. Lots of people, and it was A LOT of fun! I spent way too much money, but now I have great Harry Potter shirts, and many new DVDs and CDs, mmm. And I got to go in the water park with my cousins! We all act like little kids anyway so it's all good.

I have so much homework for HS200, good thing the German homework is super fun. Thanks, Ügli.

I just got back from Grand Rapids... I bet half of you didn't even know I was going haha. I took the lappy downstate and half the people I talked to thought I was just sitting at home. Anyway, I went down to see my sister in honors choir, but there was a weekend off of work and shopping involved so that might have been what swayed me.

So I bought a lot of junk, ate a lot of junk, and didn't take too many pictures. It's hard to remember to take pictures when you're only somewhere downstate and your family isn't exactly doing anything camera worthy. Oh but I did take a stealth picture of Richard in German class... teehee!

IHS talent show today, it was pretty good and actually not as awkward as it has been some years. Don't worry, it was still totally awk for many acts, so yes, I did want to hide and cry. Sam, Zach, Dan, Sarah and I got to judge too! In my humble opinion, we were THE BEST TALENT SHOW JUDGES EVAH YEAHHH!!! Before and after we got to talk to Clancy as well, oh how I miss that man. I wish I could still just hang out in his class everyday.

I finished my Christmas shopping today with Sam, then we went to Hudson's with Alex. But before that, Sam and I saw Santa driving his convertable to the mall. You can't even imagine how random it was. Aaand I left my debit card at Jandron's, STUPID! I also recieved some delightful presents from Rob, Kenny, Kate, Ben, and Brenna. Everyone's presents were pretty rockin', especially during "Karma Sutra Story Time" haha.

P.S. My cousin Adrienne, her husband Eric, their daughters Lizzy and Charlotte, and my cousin Aaron and his girlfriend Lauren are coming to the Tundra Lodge and we get to go stay with them. I'm extremely excited!

"Bubbles are delightful." - Stephen Colbert

All of my exams were a lot easier than I thought they would be, expecially the German one. It was 10 minutes, and Frau Strauss thought it was just fantastic that I asked Johanna and Pauline for help, haha. Then she asked me a couple questions about going to the movies, and I could only answer in a few words and she was like "That's totally fine! I don't expect full sentences, I just want to make sure you understand!" I couldn't believe it. Sooo easy.

My two history exams seemed really easy too, I hope that doesn't mean that I didn't do good, but I think I did good. Oh, and Sheikh e-mailed me and said that she thinks I'm a great writer, teehee. Whatev. Now that it's all over, I can spend more time reading books that aren't required for school and sleeping for super-extended amounts of time. Wheee!

Goobie is coming home tonight, and Sam and I are going to the airport! I love going to the airport! Then we're watching The 40 Year Old Virgin tonight. I bought it Tuesday and I've just been so excited because I absolutely love that movie. Dorks rock.

My Year In Review

January: Joelle once again proves Sam wrong.

February: Alex, your dad is hot.

March: Sam told me to update! I'm sorry but I don't have much to say. I've been editing a lot of crappy 7th grade Holocaust papers.

April: This guy that always comes in the cafe and talks about stupid crap left me a 53 cent tip entirely in pennies, and I wanted to punch him in the face.

May: I haven't updated in a while and for that I am SORRY!

June: Dirk needs to burn me a copy of Photoshop CS, because I've been going through withdraws.

July: Decided maybe I'll update for once, woo! Although, if you read Andrea's journal about Prague, then my entry is going to seem like total crap. Oh well.

August: There's the pictures! Canada was great fun, and we got to meet Ben!

September: Do you ever wish that your computer had balls, for the sole purpose of kicking them?

October: I totally DESTROYED the knuckles on my pointer and middle fingers on my right hand.

November: So last night on the way home Dave and I started talking about the Animorphs series for some strange reason, started recalling our faves, and then decided to find our books and race to see who can read the first 20 the fastest. WHAT A GOOD IDEA.

December: So I'm in Whitman right now, and there's this girl across from me on the other bench, typing impossibly loud.
Germans, Germans, Germans!

Today was the last day of German class, and Frau Strauss brought us a huge amount of fruit, Christmas snack cakes, and sugar cookies. It was a fun-filled 50 minutes. Next semester will be awesome!

I also finished my dialogue for the German exam, and went to the high school to have Herr Langness look it over, but ran into Pauline and Johanna and they wanted to edit it really badly haha. They just kept telling me how cute it was, but apparently my grammer actually wasn't that bad and they said that I did a good job. Yay!
"This is the cutest thing I have ever seen!" - Pauline

So after fixing that, I checked my e-mail, and found out that I now have a pen-pal for the German trip. It's a girl, FUCK, I wanted a boy so bad. Oh well, her name is Franzi Schmitt and she likes the cinemax and the disko, so I know we'll have a good time. Maybe she can hook me up with a hot German boy anyway, teehee, I'm a slut.

Dad is now putting together a TV stand that he bought, because we have a huge new TV sitting in our garage. This means my DDR sessions will be more intense than EVER!
